The other day somebody asked me, “Are you a gamer?” The idea that you have to be this one specific thing seems a bit odd to me. I always get kind of mad when people try to narrow down like, “Let me define you in one word.” “You’re a try-hard,” or “gamer,” or a “fan boy,” or whatever it may be. I don’t like words used to sort of pigeonhole someone. It bothers me that people often forget that just because you play games, it doesn’t mean that is your world and everything you care about. There’s tons of things that I’m interested in, and I’m always kind of off-put by the notion that someone who plays games is sort of “That is all they do;” it’s definitely not the case.
